A study tour group from the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia, recently visited our Business School for a series of academic and cultural exchange activities. Led by Professor Huang Tairan, the delegation of 11 students engaged in meaningful interactions with their Chinese and international peers, further strengthening the collaborative ties between the two institutions.

The program featured a diverse range of activities designed to deepen mutual understanding. A specialized Chinese language workshop, conducted by the Business School’s Ms. Xie, introduced UOW students to practical Mandarin through real-life scenarios, highlighting the language's unique appeal. Following the session, the visitors joined a lively discussion with students from the School’s English-taught International Trade program, sharing perspectives on academic life and cultural backgrounds in a vibrant bilingual environment.

Professor Huang Tairan also gave an insightful presentation on UOW’s academic strengths and partnership opportunities, laying groundwork for future collaboration. The exchange was further enriched by interactive team-building exercises and group activities, which encouraged camaraderie and connection beyond the classroom.

Beyond campus, the tour included a visit to the Baihe Traditional Culture Base, where students explored the world of traditional Chinese medicine. Guided by experts, they learned about TCM principles and medicinal herbs, and participated in a hands-on workshop crafting traditional sachets with natural ingredients like mugwort and mint—an immersive experience into China’s intangible cultural heritage.

The visit not only provided Australian students with an authentic encounter of Chinese culture but also established a dynamic platform for sustained academic and personal exchange between students from diverse backgrounds. It marks another positive step in the Business School’s ongoing efforts to promote global engagement and intercultural cooperation.

Looking ahead, the Business School remains committed to expanding its international networks and cultivating globally minded talents through open, inclusive, and innovative educational exchanges.
